As veterinary medicine advances, veterinary practices are performing procedures on more elderly and critically ill patients than ever before. It is vital, therefore, that nurses who are tasked with monitoring these patients, and assisting in their safe recovery, understand all aspects of anaesthetising these high risk patients and are aware of their special considerations.
During this one day course you will look at the factors that increase the risk of death in our patients and how we can minimise these anaesthetic risks in the critically ill.
You will also examine all aspects of the anaesthetic period from prepped stove assessment and stabilisation right through to recovery, using case studies to emphasise the key points.
