Exotic small mammals often present as an emergency or when the disease process is already very advanced.

This means animals will often be in critical condition and fast action by veterinary staff can literally mean the difference between life and death for these patients.

This short half day course will look at techniques for triaging small mammals (face-to-face and over the phone), performing a clinical assessment, stabilisation and finally maintenance of the patient from a nurse’s perspective.

The aim is to re-cap nurses’ knowledge and understanding of exotic animal critical care or perform a foundation for learning about these species.
