Hibernation or brumation occurs naturally in wild tortoises that are subjected to temperature climates.

On the approach of colder weather and shorter days, they will naturally slow their metabolic rate to adapt to the change in conditions.

This half day course will provide you with the knowledge you need to safely and successfully hibernate Hermann Tortoises in captivity; allowing these animals to follow natural husbandry requirements.
