Patients presenting to the clinic with respiratory distress are amongst the most unstable emergency patients to be seen in clinical practice.

How these patients are handled and managed has a significant effect on their outcome and survival and whilst they require urgent assessment and stabilisation; this is made more challenging by the fact they are poorly and intolerant of handling and standard diagnostic procedures.

This half day course will present an approach to these patients that solves this problem.  There will also be discussion of the most common causes of respiratory distress in dogs and cats and how to manage them in the emergency setting.
