This course will look at how to manage yourself effectively in the work place; from time management and objectives, through to simple stress management techniques and support.

Within this session, we will look at how to get the best out of yourself by focusing on the following key points:

  • Setting SMART objectives and using them to prioritise own actions (Objectives are ‘SMART’ ifthey are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-Bound)
  • Simple time management techniques
  • An awareness of your own skills and abilities
  • Personal objectives in relation to team objectives
  • Developing flexibility and responding to changing circumstances at a daily level
  • Causes and impacts of stress at work
  • Symptoms of stress in self
  • The implications of stress for workplace and non-work activities and/or relationships
  • Simple stress management techniques
  • Available sources of support
  • Action planning and review techniques
