This course is designed for both student and qualified nurses. The course will offer delegates an improved understanding of:
• What cancer is and the types commonly seen in cats and dogs
• Diagnostic tests and how to obtain quality samples
• Staging of tumours and the various imaging techniques
• Treatment modalities
• Paraneoplastic syndromes
• Nursing considerations to include H and S, pain relief, palliative care, owner support, compassion fatigue and the administration of chemotherapeutic agents
This course will also explore the main objectives when treating cancer in domestic pets including ethical considerations.
