After graduating from Liverpool University in 2007, Adele went into mixed practice initially, before moving into the equine sector. This was a primarily welfare-based role, involving a substantial amount of work with the RSPCA and similar situations, and it was here that Adele became interested in the field of veterinary forensics.

Unfortunately, this practice ceased trading in 2011 but this gave Adele the opportunity to explore the possibilities offered by the rapidly developing field of veterinary forensics.

Since then she has worked as a locum, while studying for the GPCert (F&L), and established Saphinia Veterinary Forensics, through which Adele undertakes a variety of aspects of practical veterinary forensic work, expert witness work and research projects.

Adele is currently involved in a project in collaboration with Staffordshire University regarding the use of hair analysis as an aid to identification of Pit-Bull Type dogs and has co-authored a chapter on bitemark analysis in Practical Veterinary Forensics (David Bailey, Cabi publishing) published earlier this year.
